Have any of you used, straight perlite for seed germination?

I can not see a reason, it can not be used. Would it be much different than using rock wool? I've germinated cuttings in perlite. I find it so easy to pull the plant out of tray. The root hold tight to the perlite, so they are not damaged with i move them into a substrate. I've grown some cuttings in just perlite for many months. I have some Sanserveria cylindrica cuttings, growing larger pups in it, that I have gotten from growing them in soil. I also have some palm trees in Perlite & Scoria, they look so much better than the soil ones that have dried out a couple times. The palms are smaller, but in different light conditions.
