Design Dilemma Flooring

please help me choose carpet style

My pick would be hardwood throughout, but husband wants carpet in bedrooms and hallway. I’d prefer a looped berber that looks like sisal or seagrass. But with dogs, and a cat, and boys would I be crazy?? Should I be sensible and get a more pet/kid friendly freize instead? To me freize looks more modern contemporary and our style is old farmhouse/ traditional. Thanks!

IMO pets and kids and carpet never work well and I find berber really bad for matting down , snagging on dog claws and in kids bedrooms I would never do carpet.I think a tight weave is a must and freize is that you might also want to look a commercial grade carpet made for high traffic areas .I would just want hardwood and area rugs .

Thanks. Yeah, hardwoods with rugs is my pick but I lost the battle on this one :/
