I'm interested in what the counter top is and the name of it.

Yes its a honed black granite. I wouldn't recommend it though because it shows everything. If you want polished finish it will be ok, but if you want a matte/honed finish your best bet is a man made quartz.

The name Calcatta Brasil. It is a super strong quartzite. I got it at Galleria of Stone in PHX. :)

Thank you. I went there today and put a slab on hold. Is that a black granite on the back wall? And what is the finish? Satin/polishes/honed?

Thank you. I was thinking of going with a leathered finish on the black granite on the perimeter (I know honed shows everything) and then the polished Calalcutta Brazil on island. Is it okay to do leathered perimeter with a polished on island?

Well, we did honed, not leathered, but I what I was trying to say is that it's fine to mix finishes! I love to.
