What coffee table and chairs would you put in this open family room?

Hello,

I am in need of your discerning eye. I am almost done choosing furniture for my open living room / dining room area. I just purchased the Crate and Barrel Peyton sofa and their leather swivel, recliner chairs and the Pottery Barn Hart round reclaimed wood kitchen table. I am down to the coffee table / ottoman and the kitchen chairs. The one in the pictures will not work. My kids will stain that in a hear beat! I need it to be child friendly, I have three boys. I am just not sure what would look good with these pieces and not be too heavy for the space. Please give your recommendations.

Also, in the eat in area, I feel there is too much wood for the area. What would you change in this area, chairs or stools, or both? I already purchased the table. I am also having second thoughts on the chandelier.

So the following:

1. coffee table

2. kitchen chairs and /or stools

3. chandelier

Since you have a lot of wood, I like the more open coffee table that you have mocked up. Since you have boys, I probably wouldn't spend money on a "nice" one until they're older and you know they're not going to ruin it. Target and Wayfair have some similar to your picture. Overstock does too. I like the square shape to offset the swivel chairs.

I also like leather/faux leather chairs for your kitchen table. (unless you're afraid the boys will rip them). It’s a 3D of my actual space. The only furniture I have purchased are the couch, leather swivel chairs and kitchen table.

Thanks for the suggestions. I also feel that there is a lot of wood and want to lighten the room up, jut not sure what pieces will do that

The sofa, rug, and coffee table "read" a lot of white. What about a coffee table with a travertine or travertine-looking top? Or some other surface that contrasts the white a little (or maybe you want to do that with the rug instead?). For the chairs, I think something with a little texture and color would be nice.Here's chairs at room and board for example. Something like these might carry out the color you have in the living room. I'd say the same for the stools. Something with a little color, maybe a similar color to the chairs you pick but possibly a little lighter or darker. Not exactly the same as the chairs.

C C I do like the variety in textures and color. I just have a hard time putting it together.
