Want to sell new unused kitchen cabinets

Im purchasing a new construction home and I don't like the kitchen cabinets that the builder installed. They are brand new and have never been used. Can I sell them and if so to whom?

    "Pennies" could mean two pennies.

I sold my 20 year old kitchen on CL for $13K. The buyer's remodeling crew came in and uninstalled the cabinets, granite, and appliances. They were very careful. Went off without a hitch. The buyer was putting everything into his own house after a fire. Don't underestimate what you might be able to get since they have never been used.

Wilson, the quality of your 20 year old cabinets was probably way above whatever a production/spec builder would put in these days.

Yes but the OP's cabinets are new so I wouldn't just list them for pennies. My buyer wanted everything in a hurry because they were trying to get back in their house. He felt like he got a fair deal after going to the big boxes and seeing the pricing and timeline.

Congratulations on that working out for you. That is not the typical experience. The likelihood that a bunch of cabinets will fit perfectly in someone else's kitchen and that they will pay top dollar for them is very low. I post this simply so that the OP doesn't have unrealistic expectations.

But they are installed, new or not. Builders cabinets will more than likely not carry the quality to get much back. Hell, they may even have been flat pak and close to impossible to even sell as assembled cabinets. Without more info we may never know. Also depends how desperate someone is, and factor in that the buyer may need to settle on the layout you have or ,minor modifications and not a straight up new layout.

Please share the pics and price.

Rainbow, this is obviously a spec house since the builder installed them and the OP is now buying the house. I doubt they are high quality custom cabinets.

Facebook Marketplace is a great place to list stuff and I've sold plenty of items people said no one would buy. It can't hurt to give it a shot.

"Donate to Habitat and take the tax write off."

Habitat for Humanity is a worthy charity, but with the new US tax laws it is getting rare to have more in itemized deductions than the standard deduction of $24,400 for a married couple.

Those are not new, unused cabinets. They have already been installed, so they are used (even though nothing may have been put in them).
