Furniture Design Dilemma Dining Room

Seat hght for host and hostes 21" side chair SH 19.5" is this OK ?

I am looking to purchase dining rooms chairs. Upholstered arm chair seat height is 21" and I would like to have wood side chairs with cushioned seats. I have only seen side chairs that were 19.5 SH. There would be 1.5" difference and guest would sit a little lower than their host. Is this acceptable design or what is your opinion.

IMO 18” seat height is the norm and you will need to make sure about your table height and if it has an apron under the top. IMO hostess chairs are very traditional and I do mostly contemporary design and never use hostess chairs at all.
