I like your choices, especially the last. However, I vote “no" for any rug in the bathroom, unless it can go into the washer.

immcnitt, I was being delicate. Nasty things can happen in a bathroom. It is an area where surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned after “an episode” and, as much as I appreciate the intrinsic qualities of wool, I wouldn’t subject it to the possibilities.

While there may be some academic discussion about how far water droplets from your toilet spray when you flush there is an average consensus that the outer reaches of your fecal shower are six feet or less. Still, for most of us our toothbrush resides within that six-foot radius.”

And your rug….

Since I don’t see the toilet in the large bathroom, I will assume there is more than 6 feet of space between toilet spray and the potential rug. I prefer to think of the comfort and style a beautiful rug might add to the room rather than staying away from beautiful items in case an accident happens. You’ve given the home owner something to think about and now he/she can decide what works for their lifestyle and if they prefer to wash a rug or have it professionally cleaned on occasion. In any event, I wouldn’t recommend a rug that breaks the bank or can’t be cleaned for many scenarios.

We have a separate toilet room and don't want to debate the germ issues. Just want to figure out what rug to get. Unfortunately, the last rug, which is in our bedroom, is not longer available.

There is quite a large area as you walk in to the room where I would like to have a round rug but I also like the idea of a runner by the vanity.

I was leaning toward to the first one.
