Can anyone tell me the wood type on this Basset dresser & year

I purchased this Basset dresser and it appears to be from the Versailles line from the 1960's. The only thing thats throwing me off is the Basset stamp, which is stamped on the inside top draw & is a general basset stamp, not the circle with the horse carriage. Fyi...the handles have appeared to turn patina
If anyone can tell me the type of wood & what year they think it is. I would appreciate it.

Plywood drawers, Mahogany veneer on the drawer fronts.

Mahogany should have some cross-linking in the grain, take a close look for that. Google "mahogany grain" for some closeups.

I honestly can't tell from this distance, but it certainly could be.

I wonder if those code numbers can be deciphered?

I notice the one is cut off that says -CHES. Is that CHEST? Which could mean either that this is a chest (obviously) or the veneer is chestnut.
