Anybody Watch a Very Brady Renovation?

I did, and it was pure nostalgia for me. I do enjoy HGTV type shows, and I was happy to see my favorite DIY hosts like the Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan, and the mother ftom "Good Bones". I found the show interesting, from the re-creation of the famous "Floarting Staircase" to the challenge of finding the old horse statue and matching the kitschy floral pattern of the sofa. Good to see all the Brady "kids" grown up. All three girls still have "hair of gold, like their mother". I remember when it was originally on TV in 1969 to 1974. I did not like the show, I was snobby and in high school so it was "uncool" to like The Bradys or the Partridge family. Still, this new show was very interesting to me. I actually grew up in a very similar style home, a split level built around 1963, which my Mother furnished with Danish modern furniture and knick-knacks and tscothkes just like in the Brady house. I even had two younger blond sisters, we were famous as the three blonds back in our school and church-going days. I will watch future episodes as they re-create all 12 rooms in the Brady home. What did you think of it?

I enjoy the Brothers and I really like Jasmine Roth very much. But I don't care for the other designers on this Brady series. And I was not a Brady fan I guess due to my age.

I do like many of the other HGTV shows - Erin and Ben Napier and Victoria from Windy City Rehab especially.

Loved it - even my husband watched, and he plans to watch the rest of the shows. Must be nostalgic!

I have to remember to watch. I have read many articles about the renovation. The most fascinating to me is the staircase because it really didn't fit or belong in the original house.

    Yet, they made it work.

LOVED the Brady Bunch growing up!

I watched the first episode of the renovation show last night, although I didn't sit thru every minute of it, I like seeing the end results more than I like watching the actual work.

I thought it was great to see how different the actual house was inside - to the point of having to lower the foundation so you couldn't see the 2nd floor addition from the front view of the house. Amazing what they can do... and how much $$ they seem to be willing to spend!

I enjoyed seeing the 6 "kids" now and having them involved is a fun idea.

Did anyone say what they intend to do with this house once it's complete? I can't imagine anyone wanting to live in it - esp with it being stuck back in time! lol

No, don't have cable tv. But I loved the Brady Bunch. My brother went to school with Michael Lookingland.

I saw the Brady kids being interviewed on the Today show yesterday and they showed some clips of the show. We went out last night, so I didn't see it, but it looks like a fun idea. I'll check it out when I get a chance.

I will probably watch next week, because I loved the brady bunch when I was a kid. Just cannot stand the Scott brothers, and I don't know why. Just have a visceral reaction to them, can't stand to look at them or listen to them. Weird, I know, just don't like them.

I also don't have cable, and didn't know about it... nor would I have been able to watch it.

I loved the show... I learned English watching it... Wonder if it will ever be on netflix.
