New home construction (contractor) is moving slow, Please advise

September 11, 2019

I could be out of line and all this could be normal but I wanted to get some different opinions on this matter.

Our contract was to begin in May, didn't start until end of June. Now, we are at the middle of September with our house finally framed in (no shingles yet). We did have a basement poured but that only took a few weeks in the beginning.

Contractor told me his crew works from 7-3:30. They would be there full time during my project. Talking to the other workers, they have several jobs they are doing on top of mine. Of course, our home is the biggest of his projects. Anyways, they are lucky to be at the house 3-4 hours a day, extremely slow, and sometimes won't even show up (like today).

Is this normal routine with contractors? I get that they are trying to make as much money as possible. But it seems to me they would focus all attention on one job and then move to the next. I could be wrong. Thank you.
