Kitchen Refresh (color scheme not to our liking)

September 17, 2019

We've lived in our home for 7 years and the previous owners remodeled the kitchen. The kitchen color scheme has never been to our liking, but it's in great condition so we've never touched it (aside from re-painting the tiny sliver of walls to Benjamin Moore Dove Wing). We have Baltic Brown countertops, maple cabinets, green backsplash against the pine trim on the windows, and a grayish greenish floor. The pine trim is there to stay - we are not considering changing that out as it runs up to the ceilings and appears in other rooms.

We are not considering a full renovation as the floorplan works for us and the cabinets are in good shape.

What would you suggest to update the kitchen? Here are some of the options we're considering:

1) Repaint cabinets/island. Cabinets would be white with a dark accent on the island. (I've had this quoted by 2 companies and it's about $3800 in our area).

2) Change out countertops and / or backsplash, but leave the cabinets

3) Change out light fixtures for a more modern farmhouse look?

4) Other?

We would hire this out (not DIY).
