1. Can the upper windows (above the doors) be left uncovered?
2. If not, would you want to control covering of the upper and lower windows separately?
3. Do you need daytime privacy, nightime privacy, or both?
4. Is either window in a bedroom requiring partial or complete (blackout) darkness?

1. I thought about this, but people can see into my bedroom from above so no they should be covered

2. I want to show off the tall ceilings and I think breaking up the top and bottom wouldn't look as good. I considered doing both shades (rollers or similar) AND curtains so that I could roll them down just to cover the top and have the sliding doors open through the curtains in nice weather- you think that would work?

3. Both, but even something light so I'm not in full view would do

4. Not really required but I would go for opaque fabrics to help the cause

Another option I considered is using privacy film or glass frost on the windows and forgo the dressings completely which is the easy way out, but the cost is having no view lol...

This is a great application for Designer Roller Shades. Treat the left side of windows as 1 big shade and the right side (transom + doors) and 1 big shade. That way when you want it totally open, you don’t compromise the tall ceilings and open feel but when you want privacy and them closed, the are sleek and a clean look.

What a cool space. Ceiling hung drapes would be expensive but would look really good, I suspect.
