Need help with family room curtains and decorating advice.

We just redid our family room. Removed popcorn ceiling and paneling and had hardwood floors installed. Please any devoting advice would be greatly appreciated. We are having our couches reupholstered so I’m including the fabric in the photos.

I desperately need curtain advice. I also think I need a larger area rug. Looking forward to suggestions!

    Any color suggestions

Start with a new rug then choose accent colors from it. The new fabrics are neutral and most any color will complement it

Thanks so much. Would you do a solid or print curtain?

Since your rug and furniture will have prints, I'd pick a solid.

Solid color for window treatments . overhead lighting is only one layer of lighting for a room you will need lamps maybe evn floor lamps and we need to know the size of the room the pieces of furniture you are having upholstered and their sizes. What is the tile in the picture of the fabric. I would for sure take the light out of the fan and mke sure all the lighting is LEDs ideally in 4000K to keep the colors you choose true in all times of day. I would choose a color from the rug, you will be getting, for the window coverings most likely drapes and make sure they are at leasy 2 1/2 x the width of the rod I have no idea how much natural light you get in the space but if quite a lot you will solard shades to protect your new floors and fabrics they will provide heat and UV protection and still allow you to keep the view during the day and also provide privacy during the day. Make sure you get a darker color for the shades in 10% they give the best protection and allow the best view. Do you have the spot for the TV already then please share that .

Thanks for the great advice on the lighting. The room is 24 by 24. The tile in the picture is a table in another room I just put the fabric on. I’m attaching photos of the furniture prior to being reupholstered. The light beige fabric will be used on the couch the other fabric will be for some of the pillows. I don’t know the size of the couches.

I don’t think we are going to put a tv in the room. I am also going to change the fireplace cover to get rid of the gold.

It will be a very beige room and since you have rads under all the windows, drapery will be a fire hazard, even though you have some now. Fabric roman shades would be my preference. Your rug is a good size for the sofas, but a bit skimpy for the size of the room. If you keep it, put it under a game table in the vacant area in front of the sliders. The blue in it is pretty, so look for that to be your accent color here and find it in in a larger rug if you go that route. You could put blue on those two chairs in the background of your last photo for a great pop of color to liven up this room.

Thanks for the great advice. I need to put another piece of furniture in the room .

All the furniture is the same height. Look for a tall piece of casegoods to break the "line" around the room.
