How deep to plant Dutchman's Breeches and Shooting Stars?

There were no planting instructions with these.

The Dutchman’s Breeches (roots, bulbs, corms) are such odd looking things. I don’t know whether each cluster of little white nodules is a single plant. Plus there are loose single nodules. Which way is “up”? I bought them once before but only one came up. I don’t know if they were dug and eaten by squirrels or I planted them too deep or wrong way up.

The Shooting Stars are sprouted in the bag. So I am assuming I should plant the join between the foliage and the roots at soil level. ? Thanks
