The sink you referenced is made by Silkroad Exclusive (http://www.silkroadexclusive.com/item.php?item_code=HYP-0229-60&subcategory=double_vanities_60_to_72). The sink is similar to Sonoma Cast Stone (http://www.sonomastone.com/) varieties I've used in the past (I've attached pics of their wave and trough models). Their product is beautiful and they are very accommodating and can do custom work but unfortunately they are outside your budget. You can have a similar sink fabricated for you locally for less money by a competent concrete specialist. You can certainly put 2 small vanities together especially if they attach to the wall as in the suspended unit below or do not have legs. Another option is to install one large sink and put faucets on either end like in the trough sink from Sonoma or the 31" Cosima (attached) available from Signature Hardware.

If you have ever considered selling your home, a realtor is going to tell you to make open and clean looking spaces.. Basically it all just looks unfinished. I do not think you will be happy till you choose one style to create your feminine look. This would also be appealing to everyone who sees your bathroom.

GTB's idea of toy storage behind the sofa is just right for little ones. Putting stuff away becomes fun. The other idea of a set of baskets or bins can work, too. For decorating in the country style direction, the suggested striped rug is a nice start. An indoor-outdoor rug would be good because it's easy to clean. Target has quite a few patio rugs right now for summer decorating. Pick a colorful rug and some bins in colors from the rug. Your room needs some more color on the walls, too. HomeGoods (a freestanding large size HomeGoods, not the mini store inside Marshall's or TJMaxx) will have some relaxed country-style art to start with. One large picture or two or three smaller pictures in a theme will add some color and help fill a wall. Add things as you find them.

Disclosing every piece of information around the area, though it may seem irrelevant, will ultimately allow your professional to cut to the chase in a more concise way. A great professional will even know the right questions to ask to guide you, who as a homeowner has likely never been involved in a renovation, to give them the information they need. Regarding your budget and timeframe, I think you've found that fixing the main issues you have with the current layout means digging into a full renovation, which is an investment for sure. That said, you will still be living in this house for 1-3 years, and you should enjoy that time in your kitchen if you have the means to make a change. I think you should design a home to work for you not the next person to live there; however, if you're frustrated by something in your kitchen likely a potential buyer will be, too. If you think that a facelift could really help you enjoy the space more, I might consider things like removing the buffet and installing some more visually appealing shelving, painting the cabinets, or installing a new light fixture. When you get in to gutting and reinstalling your kitchen the price will escalate pretty quickly, which should be a serious consideration.
