The outdoor living space in my back yard is my favorite. I have lots of bromeliads and orchids in and around my pergola, and something is always blooming. In the winter I will have many orchids blooming as well as quite a few bromeliads, and so it remains colorful all year. I also have a couple of fountain that I enjoy listening to and watching the bird splash around in. Hummingbirds live here all year, and they are fun to watch as well.

I feel the same as Zalco. There are a couple of rooms upstairs that still need a bit more attention to detail, but for the most part I'm very pleased with this place we call home.

My home is anan open concept log cabin. Consequently I have used variations of several patterns which can be moved from area to area. We have red couches, yes a matching set, how ever I use matlasse covers on different areas on different couches. For instance one couch has the seat only covered, another has back and seat covered. The largest has a red checked cover on back and skirt with white seat. All arms are uncovered. The bedroom has an antique set in it with the same red plaid duvet cover because it is seen from the whole area. We have a round kitchen table with wicker white chairs. What i love about my home is that I can move any piece of furniture to any where in the house including the loft and it all blends well. It is cozy and comfortable and I thank God every day for my little home in the woods.

My garage is the best.

We're very happy with our house overall. I have to say we really enjoy the yard, especially being in Southern CA where so much time is spent outside almost year round. I took this photo a couple years ago when it had been raining. This shot shows one of many old oak trees.

l love my kitchen

Backyard... from jungle to mid-century, rustic. Sweat equity which always makes it more rewarding. Lots of natural textures with hard scape, cedar, shade garden, and bird sanctuary.

I love my LR we entertain a lot and it is so easy to rearrange furniture according to group size. It is in a MCM ranch that we have completely renovated, still working on the walk out basement. It is a big house for us at 3500 sq ft but seems to just work for the 2 of us and a whole crowd too.

my kids playroom is rediculously awesome! It is the biggest room in our house. We live in a ranch but this room is down on the ground and the rest of the house is raised a bit, so theres a few steps down into it. It has the softest carpet ever in a pretty light blue color. one entire wall is a large window. much of the opposote wall is a large fireplace/surround. one of the perpendicular walls is nesrly wall to wall built in storage. Its such a warm and cozy room and im so proud to have given my kids a space like that. :)

After a year and a half, most rooms still need a little something, but I'm most proud of my hall bath. It was the first room to be completely "done".

This is interesting. It appears that the rooms people love the most looked nothing like the rooms being urged upon us in Houzz. Which show how happy our homes make us in a way that is almost entirely personal. And that’s heartening.

I love my living room. As it easily switches its mood-thanks to quick change accents such as pillows and slipcovers.
