I finally saw your post, and yes I think a cool gray rack could be darling...

One point I recall from that article was deciding if you want the use of/ look of a particular room to have drama - say of a bold paint color [often dining room] ? well, I like from here what your paint color is, but can't tell.... is a nearby area one you want more than muted?

Idk what other neutral, or bright... for kitchen you'd like...do you not like it?

I think if you really need the storage for pots, I would put a wall storage pot rack where you now have your spice rack on that wall.

I agree not to add a pot rack over the peninsula. I would use a woven wood shade for the window, so it is up out of the way when not in use. It would also give you some texture. Paint your door a deeper shade of the blue walls. Get a blue patterned runner for use by the door.

Nearby dining room... I have to have a large pot rack because I have absolutely no room for pots and pans in this house and if I remove the spice rack I have no where to put my spices, I just ordered clear jars for my spices as well.

Love the idea of the blue runner.

I’ve been planning on ridding some of the clutter. This house is large, 5 bedroom, I have a baby and teenage kids, the kitchen is smaller than the bathrooms in this house I don’t understand the tiny kitchen.

Wow u have more cabinets then me. Declutter cabinets. I put a cabinet in my sunroom for storage.

I also have a bakers rack. Before that a bookcase.

You could use a pot wall rack like Beverly suggested, and put the spices in a wall mounted rack between your countertop and upper cabinets. I've seen some that attach with the spice lid to a magnet strip. Any type of curtains like your examples will just be in the way and too fussy, adding to the look of clutter. Stick with a simple shade. It will give you more light inside, too.

Unfortunately I do have to have some sort of shade that blocks out light, I live in Arizona so when it’s 116 the shades have to be drawn or it gets very uncomfortably hot

What kind of shades would keep light out, but look simplistic enough to not add clutter. I really appreciate everyone’s advice. I never thought about just having shades I think that would look a lot better. What kind of shades are farmhouse style?

You can find solar shades that block light and heat without blocking the view entirely. Or just get black out shades. If you want a "farmhouse" look, you could use woven shades with a blackout lining. These are solar shades:

I have a dilemma with finding shades for my window.. not only is it arched, but it’s a slider so it sticks out, see photos. Are there shades for arched windows like this? Suggestions cause I can’t seem to find any. Only finding shades for the top portion.

Use a shade on the window in the kitchen. For the sliders, do you need anything there at all? If you have a privacy issue, put a long rod across the top of the entire window, above the arch, and hang your drapes straight down on either side. Then you can close them when needed but keep them pushed back out of the way otherwise.

When I saw the kitchen, I had an immediate different thought than I see here. Is that formica? If so, I would replace it with new formica in a different color... This is not a major job, evidently. It comes with the backsplash and everything. You just order the length you need.

Grey (as in one of the photos upthread)? Navy? Black?

With the teal blue chairs, one or more of these colors on a countertop would be striking.
