If you truly want lavender, I'd suggest you consider a lavender paint color that is close to a pale blue or a pale gray so the room could more easily become more or less masculine or feminine depending upon what you choose to put in it, however, you might also consider painting the room a true (matte / flat -- not gloss) white and adding the lavender you like with bedding. Then use white blinds without curtains or drapes.

I have used BM Lavender Blue in my north facing bedroom and am very pleased with it. It is, as suezbell suggested, more of a pale blue.

Lavender is beautiful and will be restful if toned down with enough gray so it stays sophisticated and not too bright like a little girls room.

Yes, I agree that lavender is a tricky color to get right- that's why I'm asking for actual paint color suggestions. Too gray and it looks old and dingy- too bright and it looks like an easter egg. Thanks, junco for the paint color suggestion! It's a beautiful color, but leans more blue than I am thinking for this room.

Lavenders are like blues , tricky to get right and I do think a guest room should be neutral enough to suit both sexes. You will ned to test drive some to get it right . I would make sure to choose your bedding and have it in the space while testing colors.

Patricia- I thought blues were hard, but I'm finding lavenders even more challenging!! I should have mentioned we will have 2 guest rooms- one for adults and this one will be predominantly for my granddaughters.
