This is disappointing as I'm a fan of both The Crown and Olivia Colman.

Fun hit the nail on the head, exactly how I feel. The Queen is diminished terribly.

I watch it - not quite sure what to think about this season yet. Claire Foy was wonderful - disappointing that she’s no longer the queen.

I’ve been watching it, too. Not sure what to think but Foy did a fantastic job as the younger Elizabeth, but maybe Colman is correct in her portrayal of an older more worn down Elizabeth. How awful to be surrounded by the grey men, telling her how to behave correctly and even what emotions to display. I think Colman is doing a great job of depicting Elizabeth with a foot in the past and one toe in more modern times. Meanwhile, Margaret has jumped in with both feet and is now drowning. The scenes around the tragic coal slide were quite telling. Even stiff old Philip was moved by that tragedy while Elizabeth had to be told how to react. But she is learning,unfortunately not enough (Diana, later on ). Anyway, I am still thoroughly enjoying it.

It's taking me a few episodes to become accustomed to Olivia Coleman in this role. I loved her in Broadchurch and Fleabag and even The Favourite although I thought the overall movie was rather bizarre. But I finished episode 7 this morning and I no longer find her clipped speech or mannerisms distracting, so perhaps she is growing on me. Josh O'Connor is wonderful as Prince Charles (especially episode 6), He also played the eldest son in The Durrels of Corfu. And Helena Bonham Carter does her usual fantastic job of dominating her scenes, even when she she's sitting quietly.

Off topic a bit, but fans of Olivia Colman, or any offbeat British TV shows would like Flowers. I binged both seasons very quickly.

I'm watching the latest one and enjoying it immensely.
