which picture looks best above the sectional

last modified: 5 years ago

Both pictures are 40"x60" leaving a space of 8" above and below the picture. Are these too large? Would I be better with say a 35" wide picture? Help! I planned on picking the picture and then choosing the paint for the walls possibly choosing a color from the picture. The other picture is saved in my Houzz pictures and I don't know how to bring it up here. It's got blue and brown flowers on it. I believe it to be contemporary styling.

    Hi Ladies,
I have a chance to change my exterior door handles and am wondering which color Would be a good choice, Venetian bronze or brushed nickel? Or any other suggestions.

I would love to hear your opinion on this matter as well. House siding is linen and soffit and down spouts are dark brown. Original door knobs are oil rubbed bronze but the have become obsolete.

Because it goes good with your brown and your mailbox and your numbers

Crazy phone are left out the first word I said bronze or a black if you want if your mailbox and numbers are black cuz it goes good with your roof

    Ok thanks Happyleg

    @home interiors with ease
I'm having a hard time deciding on a white for the trim throughout the house and kitchen cupboards. I think the color that I chose is too much of a cream white. My walks are in the paint color Aria and the white on the same paint sample is Delicate White which I do like. Do you think that's a good choice too?

Here are the updated pictures I said I would send. I'm still in the process of painting the bannister and trim and doors.

Here's the kitchen and my bedroom still need to paint the cupboards and all trim.

Agree, @Janice Maxwell, that the current trim paint color is not good with your tiles. Recommend you try to find a paint color that is the same color as the tiles.

Back to the trim in the kitchen there is also Dulux paints Moonlit Snow

Bring home some samplesFor the tile of your white what color are you painting the banister? What is wrong with the banister the way it is it goes with the floor and doors?

I planned on painting the doors and the bannister a white also.

I'm wondering if one of you could contact Home Interiors With Ease as she doesn't receive any of my notifications on my threads. The 3! Of you have helped along my journey and I would like to hear her opinion as well.

I'll try if I ran across her but she moved and she's decorating and unpacking her new place she says it's going to take her a month

I like my trim to match my window and my tile cuz it just expanse it more

Janice, @Home Interiors With Ease is in the process of unpacking everything in her new home in Michigan, so she may not check in for awhile. Good luck finding a paint color that looks "right" to you. It's a difficult task.

Is your tile white cuz it looks like gray to me on my phone and the delicate white looks a shade lighter than the window trim otherwise paint the window trim to match the tile like I said it expanse but if the tile is a gray shade in your wall is a gray shade you might want a color like white dove or simply White

I noticed she is no longer a member of Houzz.

I'm in love with this one color called snowbound it's a shade of white but it's more on the warm side but next to a white it looks White and it goes good with wood tones

Is it a dulux, Benjamin Moore,?

Oh she still comments on some of the threads

Here is my sampleBut go and pick up yours it might look different on my monitor or your monitor

    Thank you happy leg

    I will check it out

Is your tile a white with a hint of gray?

When I clicked on Home Interiors with Ease, there was no information on her so I thought she had left membership. Have not seen any posts from her myself, so since it was pointed out that she has moved to Michigan thought maybe she had removed her info until she is settled.

Julie (HIWE) has commented recently on my thread. I can't imagine that she will ever leave Houzz!

    @WalnutCreek Zone 7b/8a

I follow her and just clicked on her.......all info is there. There may be a Houzz glitch today.

People are having trouble loading pictures, etc.

Like @dsimber said, "I can't imagine that she will ever leave Houzz!"

I'm impressed that a few of you are able to post pix today. It seems there are major problems in houzz today.

Janice, I wanted to tell you your bedroom looks terrific! You must really be enjoying it. I don't remember your working on it but it looks wonderful!

I also have to make a decision on a door knob for my shed. The door knobs on my two exterior doors of the house are Venetian bronze, the siding on the house is ivory and soffits, facia and down spouts are dark brown, same with the shed. Should I put Venetian bronze on the shed as well or change that one to a brushed nickel? It has also been suggested to me to paint the front door on the outside to brown as well instead of red. Does everyone agree with that? Also it's so good to hear from all of you again. I hope you've all been well.

After thought or should all the door knobs be changed to a brushed nickel?

All the window trim will be painted white.

The mailbox can be completely gotten rid of and the house numbers can be changed to brushed nickel as well.

    Whoops it's called Satin Nickle

Thats a very modern picture for a not so modern sofa. Perhaps the other picture would be more appropriate. Please post when you can.

Hi Linda, are you referring to the brown corduroy sofa in the title picture? If so that sofa is long gone and has been replaced.

@Janice Maxwell, please don't paint your front door brown. The red is so wonderful on your house. As far as hardware on the house and shed, go with whatever color you like the best. For myself, I prefer the Satin Nickle, but that is me. If you prefer the Venetian Bronze, keep that.

I like your door red also don't paint your front door Brown direct is brown your other pictures are brown it'll be too drab if you don't like the red paint it an aqua or green or teal I would go with the bronze knobs cuz it look best on your house and shed

I found this at “ doorsonlineuk”. So keep the red door. Also, look at pictures Houzz of the front of homes and you will see most attractive homes have 3 colors on the exterior.

    Hi everyone,
I'm posting 2 pictures of how I have following and followers for Julie. Do I have it wrong. I noticed that I don't have a green square for happyleg and she gets my notifications.
