I would not paint the cabinets. The look great with the tile, counters, and flooring. Instead of color, I would concentrate on a bit more bling and texture. For example, qhat about a rectangular chandelier above the island that is a focal point of the room. You could do it in brass, get brass cabinet handles, and nice stools for the counter with some brass trim.

You need a fruit bowl, countertop appliances, and to live in this space for a bit as it looks so empty now and filling wit with items may help your concern about lack of color too.

I would do all of the above, but, I would also paint the walls. They look very dreary to me. Your cabinets, floors and countertops are beautiful I would paint the walls, a very light aqua, or a very light green color.

I agree, add life. Your kitchen is fine. Paint the walls if you must paint something but you don't need to do anything at all.

To the all ideas I would add some roman or bamboo shades.

Paint the walls either warm white or light green, and add a colorful runner and a green plant.

Looks like my last place, and fine. When we sold it, it was painted a light latte neutral.

Is the area open - and if so, is there more 'life' nearby, with color and/or pattern, or accessories you like?

If it's a closed off room, maybe then you do want more...

I forgot - colorful stools... but this has such dark legs. Fabric at windows would soften the room, and break up amount of wood.

I love your kitchen and the whole color scheme. Do as Jan says, add fruit, flowers, a nice tea kettle, and you'll see everything come to life. You got all the hard stuff done perfectly.

I feel the floors and the cabinets are too monochromatic I would def paint the walls and consider painting the cabinets as well assuming they are just basic Home Depot quality cabinets. It would really brighten up the space.

I agree, add color and pizazz with colored appliances, curtains and bar stools. You will be amazed at the chance some color added will do.

Consider the amount - and the shape created by wall paint - will it make a substantial difference?

I agree that a few additions will go a long way. I definitely can see rugs or mats adding so much, and they are not big commitments and can be moved. Little touches of color are all you need. I think some of the stools suggested, if you can use them, would be great.

And yes, a bowl of flowers, a teakettle or the like, and you will be very happy with your kitchen.

Art glass shades in color for your three pendant lights. If you went with the green painted walls as suggested, a bit of red would look great to complement. Like Lisa's toaster!
