Dish soap should be fine. I've washed walled with a spray on window cleaner, and never had a problem. When we were getting ready to paint our ceiling, we got a commerical grade cleaner/degreaser at Home Depot that worked very well. It didn't hurt the paint at all--in fact it did such a great job, the ceiling looked like it had been freshly painted. The only time we've had a problem with peeling paint was when we took down a wall to pull up old flooring under it. My husband didn't think to cut the drywall tape connecting the ceiling and wall so when it came down, it took several layers of paint with it. I don't think you need to worry about that with what you're doing......

Get thee to the local Paint Shoppe!!!! Get lots of paper samples and then narrow it down to 4. Purchase small quantities and paint cardboard at least 2' x 3' and place it around the rooms for days at a time to see the light's reaction. Then decide. Regards, Karen & Joseph for Decorative Philosophy

I looked at the RH Sage and I am not sure. Please read this article on paint & the lighting in your kitchen. http://www.lindaholtinteriors.com/2011/07/testing-wall-color-101/ I love the photo below and think this color would be good for your kitchen especially with the silver-chrome hardware. I think the color below might be slightly darker than the RHSage, but I am not sure. You will have to experiment in the light of your kitchen. Click to enlarge.

What do you prefer. I recently had to decide what the interior of my cabinets should be and the responses were across the board. Some form of white laminate is also pretty common. I am having the interior of my cabinets painted blue - the shelves will be lined with a blue laminate and the sink cabinet will be completely lined with blue laminate. Those cabinets which have glass doors will be stained to match the exterior.
