Does the fabric in this chair go with the comforter?

I am having a chair made with this Ralph Lauren Algonquin red and black fabric. I do have a smaller arm chair made out of the same fabric that I put next to my current comforter to see how the two would coordinate. My carpet and walls are a soft neutral creamy beige color. I want a pop of color in this bedroom. Does the red and black fabric of the chair work with the comforter? If not, want color comforter would look best? the comforter is a soft black with a taupe/beige lighter color.

I don’t think they work together at all. What is it that you all find so great? IMO that chair is the star of the room and I would do a really simple bedding in black,a subtle pattern in black if any at all. Maybe some black and red striped pillows on the bed or better yet a really beautiful wool throw on the foot in red.

I think it looks great ... coordinates so well, and has a lovely RL vintage look to it that I think will be perfect in your room. (And I love that horse pillow!) Your comforter has a very neutral style, but a textured look and pattern that I think compliment the RL patterns/fabric in a really nice updated way.

Please show us after it’s done, I love Ralph Lauren anything. :)

I think the chair in the first pic and your comforter look amazing together, especially with that beautiful pillow and your lovely furniture. I'm not so sure about the chair in the second pic, but I still think it will look okay. I love the first chair with the black leather back.

thank yo! That is my chair, actually (the first smaller chair) I am having a chair made that will be just a little bigger than the first chair. I just included the second chair so everyone could see the fabric better. Many thanks!

I have to agree with Patricia. I love your chair fabric and your bedding “ goes” to the extent that it is neutral. But this fabric makes a bold statement and you should add more to the bedding to enhance that! A wonderful blanket at the foot of the bed and pillows ! They needn’t be in the same fabric but some black or red.

Fabric is great, but the comforter doesn't work with the plaid. Just because it's beige doesn't mean it will work with everything. The patterns are terrible together.

Select something that Lynartist has recommended.

I like those two together as a start ;-) I'd add even more textured/patterned/embelished layers and I really look forward to seeing your evolving room.

I agree with adding a bit of red and texture to the bed through pillows. And perhaps a small lumbar pillow with mostly black for the chair to tie everyone nicely together. I missed anything beige here, except the walls, which we don't see. I thought the bedlinen was a black and white geometric pattern made of fine lines and the chair fabric.

Yes, you are right, the bed linen is a black with an off white/light taupe color with fine lines.

I love that chair. It is such a unique piece. I also love the idea of the buffalo check bedding. I thought those two complemented each other well!
