I've recently painted one of our rooms in Benjamin Moore Advance high gloss black (which is a low VOC and water-based). It's only been 3 days since the last coat of paint went on so maybe it needs more time, but the room definitely still smells. Any idea as to when the smell dissipates? Also, the painters sealed up the room when painting, and I told them when they were done to leave the plastic wrap over the one door and then they sealed up the other sliding French door with painters tape. During the day, I go into the room and open the windows to let the fresh air in. My question is this: Is having the room sealed up prolonging the smell? I feel like the smell would just travel throughout the entire house if I opened the plastic seal wrap and the sliding doors. As is, we can smell it slightly throughout the house. I have a sensitive nose and also have a 3 and 4 year old. Any tips, suggestions, advice, thoughts are welcome! Thank you!
