Any shower rod (tension or screwed) will "fail" if subjected to enough stress. Mount the tension rod using silicone adhesive. Easier and less expensive to replace a tension rod as opposed to a screw mounted.

Ha! I can answer that one, I have a corner shower, the shower base is square but I wanted the shower curtain to stop the splash of water going out onto floor, I put the rod up and it was screwed into walls but like you noticed it can easily be pulled once curtain is up. The rod will bend at the angle as there will be nothing to support it even before adding curtain - this is what happened to mine. The only thing I could do was to hold it up with a cord to the ceiling- like ceiling hook or within tiles ( I have metallic tiles as ac has to be cleaned thus, removing the tile. I actually would have preferred a support post under it but it’s difficult to do.

Feedback: would prefer glass doors instead. If kids are using the shower, it won’t last long.

I have a curved tension rod and it has never fallen down. The old straight rod would fall down all the time.

You will only know after you try it. I don't like tension rods, I always pull them down. I would only use screws and it would have to be into a stud for something like that, but I'm clumsy.
