I am in your same situation here. Your plants won’t die but the new growth will burn if it gets cold again. This happens every time the weather gets warm too early and the plants should recover.

Mulch around the bottoms where the new canes are coming up. That should help protect those somewhat. As for the leaves and leaf buds, you will probably lose them but don't worry. There are three sets of bud eyes at each node. So if the first one is freezer burned a new one should appear later when it warms up again.

After it being 77 today, we are due a low of 32 in a couple of days. I am covering up a couple of basal breaks on roses in the ground with plastic pots. My potted Grandmother's Hat, with several plump buds, and Souv. de la Malmaison with one big bud, are going in the greenhouse. Just as it seemed we were having an early spring - not! Some places have those frost blankets - I have one packed up, plan to get it out and throw over a raised bed and some of my young potted roses just leafing out. I just hate to see all this beautiful new growth zapped!
