need advice what to do on other side of peninsula kitchen

Daniel M

I refaced my kitchen instead of replacing it.
we dont want to add a round table on the blank side. looking for ideas for the wall and/or cabinets or a sideboard. want it to flow as much as possible with what is existing. I'm handy, and can do some general building and work.

thank you in advance.

What's to the left..or what does that space open up to? You could build bookcases into the niche.

to the left is the sliding door going to the backyard.

bookcases is just too plain. want it to look more custom with some design aspect.

google images of keeping rooms and you may get some ideas. How about a soft spot to sit where someone can keep the cook company.

Consider a large wall mirror (faux window?) to reflect light.

Why not a shallow pantry to hold cans and smaller items with french doors with lace curtains inside - to hide it all away? Just wondering what is on the other side of that wall if you opened it up would it open to a family room or living room?

I dont know how to reply to individuals.

that coffee bar idea with pictures is the plan as of right now! couple shelves and a sideboard.

not sure how to do the background yet.

Wooden open shelving like in one of the pictures would look great

    pam and diana...
love the ideas! that lounge area is so cool.
but I think wwre going with the coffee bar idea with wooden shelves above. as we already have a adult drinking area on another side.
thanks for the pics! those really help.

You could carry over your tile and install the shelves over it to tie it together and give yourself an easy to clean surface.
