Just For Fun: A Collage of Pink David Austin Roses

After reviewing my 2019 photo library, I decided to try a new collage program called Fotojet. Here's my first collage - can you order the names of the 13 pink roses correctly? Here's an alphabetical list.

I agree with the pink/grey color scheme suggestions. But instead of going "glam" with it, how about going "industrial" instead. I think it'll give a nice unexpected twist and take the edge off all that pink. We finished a complete bathroom remodel a month ago and the paint we chose was supposed to be a "cool grey with a whisp of purple"....um...it's pink! At first I wanted to change it, but after a few days I felt the effect was very subtle, but really cool (yes, I do say so myself!): white subway tile (industrial look staple), non-frilly accessories like plumbing pipe for a towel rack, etc. Check out houzz bath for inspiration. Although I'm not familiar with plants for your area, I do have books. Here are a few general ideas from A to Z to check out at your garden center. The Arctostaphylos species has many evergreen shrubs, small trees and ground covers that are very handsome, with nice bark, some red, some peeling, many with glossy foliage, some light, some toward gray, some fragrant with winter blooms, most white, some pinks, and most with striking branching to accent against the brick. The spice bush (Calycanthus occidentalis has fragrant bright green leaves with dark red flowers. There is a selection of California hollies or Toyons (Heteromeles) with the familiar red fruit. Mahonia (Oregon grape) has yellow flowers and blue fruit. Myrica, the wax myrtles with glossy leaves and fragrance. If you like oleander, you might try Vaquelinia californica (Arizona Rosewood) Have fun choosing this very important plant to greet your guests.

I say never say never! I have lived through the mauve and blue through the jewel tones and beyond! Who knows what the future will bring! I always hated yellow till my then toddler son wanted it for his bedroom. I remember when it was done I thought this us the happiest room in the house! Have loved yellow ever since!

Thank you for the suggestions, I will show my daughter. She definitely has a mind of her own. She was the one who chose the wall colors 3 years ago and when I recently wanted to redo the room she wanted to make bedding that coordinated with the wall colors, she likes bright colors and that's how we came up with the custom bedding she has. Now She is wanting to tone down the room (and I agree) so we are just trying to find out how to do that while keeping in mind that we just spent a lot on this bedding. However, I can have the bedding modified, changing out the green or fixing it. She has seen black and pink rooms and thinks that would be very cool, grown up and stylish. She doesn't want white or grey walls, she wants to keep some pink in there. I know we need curtains for coziness, just need to know what is best to do.

Boy this highlights for me how similar many of the pink Austins are! This is fun to try - I'll play. I have all of these but Scarborough Fair (and Anne Boleyn that died), but I wouldn't be able to pick them out for sure even if they were my own photos:

Wow! I only have three of these, Eglantyne, Scepter'd Isle and Pretty Jessica. I've really been wanting Belle Story, Scarborough Fair and Belle Story, but all these others are SO pretty.

Vapor - I definitely recommend Belle Story which is one of my all-time favorites because of her lovely golden stamens. She's definitely a bee magnet with a sweet myrrh fragrance.
