I’m looking for accent chairs to put around this buffet table

The dining room chair I currently have there for the photo is 43”H, I was looking at accent chairs that are 33.5” H which is 7” shorter than the buffet table - do you think the accent chairs need to be taller than the buffet table?

For comfort, a chair needs to have arms. In a dining room, choose a pair of chairs that work with your dining set and buffet and could be used at the "heads" of the table should you need to squeeze in a couple of more people by adding chairs to the sides of the table. As long as it works with your dining set, is painted the same color or a coordinating color, the height doesn't matter as much ... but I'd consider shorter wider seats (than the chair shown) with arms the better choice.

This buffet table is actually in the living room, the chair in the photo is just a place holder that I took from the dining room to demonstrate height. I’m having a hard time finding accent chairs taller than 40” - you think chair shorter than the buffet table would be fine? These pictures are the chairs I was thinking may be good!

What you have pictured is not a buffet table but rather a credenza or sideboard.
You shouldn't be looking for "dining chairs" but for occasional chairs...

The same height or shorter would be fine. Choose new chairs for comfort rather than fad/looks.

You might consider just adding one really comfortable chair angled in the corner with a floor lamp behind or beside it. Then add something else to the other side. Perhaps even just park a small ottoman there that goes well with the new chair.

If natural light reaches either side of the window, you might consider adding a plant for that side of the sideboard.

On the side of the sideboard not shown, perhaps a tall "snake plant" in an attractive pot on a rolling plant dolly might be worth considering.

The chairs should be larger armchairs that work with the sofa or other furniture in the room, pulled into a seating arrangement, rather than just sitting to the side of this table. If no one would ever sit there, it's not a place for any type of chair.
