Design for kitchen cabinets on lowest wall of open, vaulted ceiling.

The sink, cooktop, and ovens all go on the lowest wall of an open vaulted ceiling. That wall is 8' to plate, but 8'10 to tongue and groove ceiling, but it looks much lower because of the tall peak. Ideally the rafters could be terminated in a soffit and the kitchen cabinets go up to that but I fear it would draw the eye down and make that wall seem even shorter. But putting cabinets between rafters up to ceiling doesn't work because they are in the wrong places! All ideas welcome on how to make the cabinets work with those rafters (with or without soffits). I've looked all over Houzz but can't find anything with a similar problem.

For reference, the arched doorway is 9'. Thanks Houzzers!
