if it's meant for a bathroom it will say "damp or wet rated'. that one obviously is not for a bathroom ceiling.

(look under specs for ratings)

you can start by searching 'damp rated or wet rated' lighting (if the light is going to be above or part of a shower, it must be waterproof and /or rated as 'wet rated'.)

The National Electric Code (NEC) from 2011 requires that any part of a light fixture, including crystals dangling from chandeliers, must be a minimum of 8 feet above the highest portion of a tub's walls. This no-chandelier zone extends out horizontally 3 feet around the tub rim.

Beth, thank you for you prompt reply. My bathroom ceiling is only 92" high. Does it mean that per NEC code, I can't have ANY light fixture above my tub? That would be disappointing! :-(

Recessed light only. No surface mount at all. This is th National Electrical Code. It covers the entire US. Some local places can have stricter requirement. They can not have more lenient.

You can always install a decorative fixture that isn't wired.

Right. You could buy one of the Tiffany lights you favor, remove the shade from the electrical portion (it appears that it attaches with wires and clips), and discard the electrical part. Then install a recessed light such as this 8" Lithonia WF8 in the ceiling. Screw some hooks into the ceiling around the recessed light and attach the Tiffany shade to those hooks.
