I actually don’t like rugs in DRs and the size needs to be at least 3’ wider all around the table so might actually end up being the same as the LR. Maybe post a picture of the rug there might be a way to get a nice coordinating one if you really want a DR one.

I did three same rugs, all different shapes. Round under table, rectangular in family room open to kitchen and a runner in the sink area. Its cohesive.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting thank you. That actually makes me feel a bit better. We had one that was made to be more durable for cleaning up spills(we have kids) but I never liked it and eventually I got rid of it and the floor has been bare for a few years now. The thing is I don't love the finish on our floors. They are very dark (the one big mistake that I made at the beginning of our cottage renovation) and kind of dull/matte finish and I think that's why i was thinking of adding one again, but maybe I'll just leave it for now then. I'm thinking ahead to when we will stage the house for sale next year and was afraid the rug may no longer be in stock. I really like it in my living room, but people would probably recommend I do something different for buyers anyways as my taste is probably too traditional:-)
