1.) Contact a design professional in your area. They can tell you more about what is feasible for your particular situation. You can either contact an architect, a design-build company, or a contractor. Each will have a different approach to the execution of the project. If you were to contact a company like ours, we would look in to all of the codes and regulations for your particular location, work with your condo association, and work with the town to make sure that all the paperwork was in order for the project prior to construction. It is part of our process to very clearly outline all potential issues before starting, and build it in to our planning process. We're a design-build company, so we combine the design and the construction process in to one step- and we take care of all the little details. I'd highly recommend finding someone like us in your area.

All your house tones are camoflauge / green undertone brown grays. . . you might paint (don't primer but don't stain) the vertical surfaces dark to match the horizontal cladding near the top. If you want to make the pony wall the lighter camo tone on the stucco over the front door for modern contrast, that would work too - two shades of the same tone, really, one mid tone, one dark. . . Looks a lot like bm gettysburg gray and country life - start there and hold the swatches against the door / existing house. For the floor, and any built in furniture, try a clear protectant so you maintain the cedar tone - great with the green greiges and will add light / floors that are mid tone wood never look dirty / bring warmth here.

HI -- Aubry -- Lucky you ! That view is amazing !! Arizona , right ? I think you will always be fighting the wind no matter what . To cut down on the wind you have to have barriers of some sort . How much are you wanting to put into this . You would have to build a structure that will go with the house style . Something like a shade house with sides but clear openings to see the view . Putting tempered glass panels all around would work but not sure about the look of that and the expense . Very heavy iron base furniture perhaps . I don't think you can bolt anything down because that would perforate the roof membrane , then you may get leaks . Are you sure that is patio /deck usable space . Because it has a lot of slope to it and there is just the roof membrane . Look around at some of the other house to see how they handled the problem . Not really sure what you can do or are allowed to do.
