I didn’t vote for either because I think the walls colors are too tight to balance the leather sofa and the rug red.

Now the brick, the floor and the sofa are of one tone; the rug and the walls make a mix of three. With the white trim, lovely correlating mix.

Art over fireplace a no, regardless of what you choose for walls.

thanks, Judy G. I think I am going to keep the original wall color and just change the hallways (including the ones leading up to that room). I cannot find anything I like better and ended up buying dark gray drapes (and may coordinate the blinds to match the white trim). Never really liked the way the straw color looked against the wall color. Do you think the art above the fireplace has too much green?

I think it is too green, too tropical, and hung too high.
