Recommendation for a cordless stick vacuum

My Eurecka has been discontinued. I really like this model because it has a hand vacuum that pops off. None other seems to have this feature.

Moving on, anyone have a cordless stick vacuum that they can recommend?

Dyson. Love mine and I have tried several others in the past.

I bought this Dyson model during the time that linked post was active and I have to say I LOVE it. It reminds me of my KitchenAid stand mixer, which just does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it perfectly. I have 2 or 3 dogs here most of the time, and this allows me to easily and effortlessly keep the dog hair at bay. However..... I was at my daughter's apt. last weekend, and one of her roommates had purchased a knock off on Amazon, and I have to say I was incredibly impressed, particularly since it was under $100. Now, I only tried it once, so I can't give you a full review, but it picked up beautifully. I was honestly stunned at how well it did. And the head swivels exactly the way my Dyson does. This is the one she bought on Amazon.

I recently bought a Dyson V11 Animal (cordless stick )at Costco. I was so impressed with it, I ordered a Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Allergy via the Dyson.com chat. Did you know that if you already own a Dyson product that is registered, you can get discounts on most of their items via chat? I got 20% off plus more "free" tools than the website and other online promotion. I only thought my house was clean! LOL I looked at Amazon and other websites, but decided to go through the website in case there were any issues/problems.

I too LOVE the Dyson stick vac I bought as a result of the above mentioned thread. You can use the motor as a hand held. Every time I use it I still continue to be amazed. I have a lot of cat hair and I still wonder what else keeps getting sucked out of my bedroom carpet. I have wood floor and area rugs elsewhere and use it on every thing. I thought I'd only use it on my main level and use my Miele canister downstairs since we store it down there. However once I got the Dyson I haven't used the Miele since.

I didn't carefully analyze which one to buy - just got the Dyson 8 Animal because it was deeply discounted around Black Friday. After that I realized there was a "softer" wood floor attachment that Dyson would sell me for $100. There was another model on sale for $239 that included the wood floor attachment so I just bought a second one for our lake cabin and kept the wood floor attachment for home where I have newer floors.

It's one of the best things I've ever purchased.

I bought a Dyson V8 Absolute because of 3katz's thread. I was hesitant because I had one on the early full-sized Dyson's and hated it. I love, love, love my Dyson stick! I have hardwood, oriental rugs plus a flat weave carpet on the basement stairs. I also have 2 cats, one of whom has a double coat and sheds enough to make a new kitten daily. I still use my Miele canister for the draperies. Otherwise, it's always the Dyson. It's so light and easy that I vacuum more often.

Almost identical to what 3katz said except dogs. I bought the 8 based on that thread and a week later bought the soft head as I have hardwoods with area rugs. Both heads are needed. It's amazing.

Miele has a stick vacuum with a pop off hand held, but it is not cordless. I see BBB carries it, so a coupon would bring the price more in line with the Dyson.

I bought the Dyson V8 Absolute in the fall (on sale from Dyson) and I like it a lot. Cleans my area rugs much better than my Miele. DH just uses the Miele now on the hardwoods. My current Miele is one of the lower end models. My old Miele that lasted 20 years was a higher end model had a power nozzle that cleaned rugs well. We also have a Sears Progressive that’s about 15 years old with a power head that does a good job on rugs/carpet.

I will add that I thought vacuuming with the Dyson V11 Animal the rugs were then free of dog/cat hair, but once I received the Cinetic Animal Allergy, it pulled out even more. I was elated and horrified. LOL

We have 3 dogs/2 cats but are now at 2 dogs/1 cat. Our most shedding dog passed away a year ago.

I bought the Dyson 11 in December. There are pros and cons. The pros are that it is amazing on dog fur. It fills up even when you think your rugs are generally clean. It is also great on small grit and things of that nature. I can see it being perfect for my beach cottage.

    Now the cons:

If you formerly had a bag vacuum, than you may be bugged by how often you have to stop and empty the collection chamber. I have three dogs, so it is usually after a couple of rooms. Sometimes less, but more often than I would like.

Second con: It really isn't very good about picking up more substantial items, like, a piece of dry dog food, or a small twig, or a whole leaf. My old vacuum was an Electrolux and it picked up everything without pause. The Dyson 11 is far less effective with that.

Third con: Occasionally the filter will clog (the sensor display will tell you.) You have to remove it and wash it under the faucet and let it dry 24 hours. Of course this happens when you are only halfway through your cleaning. You can buy a spare, but they aren't cheap.

All in all, the Dyson 11 is a great vacuum, but in my opinion, it has annoying limitations.

I also have the Dyson V8 Animal and love it. The recommendations here on the old thread were very helpful. I have mostly tile throughout and low pile area rugs. Years ago I had one of the original bagless Dysons and hated it, it was probably the worst vacuum I had ever owned. Glad I gave this vac and Dyson another chance.

Adding to what jojo had to say: definitely need to empty frequently compared to a regular vac with a bag though I can do my entire main level (about 1500 sq ft) before emptying. It’s so easy it doesn’t bother me at all. As far as picking up large pieces - haven’t had a problem with that but to be honest I don’t have large stuff to pick up. Might have something to do with having cats vs dogs. I've never had a filter clog though I have had roller clogs. They are easy to clean. So far I haven’t really felt like anything was a con because the thing is so fabulous overall.

Sorry to bring this thread back to life but I didn’t want to start a whole new post for one question.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a bagless stick type vacuum With a cord?

I have been helping my son furnish a place on the west coast of U.S from here in Fl. Getting burnt out but almost done. The place is small with part carpet & part wood floors . Need streamline, bagless but with a cord .

This looks good as far as reviews go but in the corner of my brain it seems some here didn’t like it (?)

    Shark Rocket bagless with cord.

Hi Fori, the reason for the non-cordless is because his apartment is tiny. The only place to mount the recharge would be the little bathroom or living room wall. There is a small tall closet in the limited kitchen cabinetry but no plug. Son exchanged apt size for gated and other amenities.

A corded would be fine for this little place. I guess the one I posted will do the trick it just seems I heard no good here on that model but can’t find it in a search.

I Love my cordless bagless stick vac that I think 3Katz recommended.

Gotcha. I have a pretty big house and no place for my charger so I sympathize!
