Are you saying flush mount because there isnt height due to the ceiling angle? Flush mount would look ridiculous above those bedside tables. I am hoping you don't mean flush mount. Perhaps an adjustable arm light but can't give any advice based off this picture. Need better photos and more explanation as to what you are trying to achieve.

I think the hanging light is adorable! Does it function well as a reading lamp? It looks like a cool room just from the corner we can see.

Can't see where you're talking about adding nightstand lamps... That looks like a dresser on the left of the picture (not a nightstand). Did you forget to upload a picture of the head of the bed and nightstands? That would help a lot.

If you're wanting more overall light in the room and/or a reading light, invest in a dual light floor lamp -- one that aims light upward and then another with an adjustable arm.

If you're just wanting a reading light, consider a floor lamp/table combo -- one piece of furniture easily moved about in a tight space for cleaning purposes. One with a swing arm will better enable you to put light where you want it. Do make sure your choice is heavy enough to be sturdy and not knock over easily or designed so you could add some weight -- perhaps a book or two of family photographs -- beneath the table top.

If you want to cover the frame of a full sized bed, you might want to invest in a queen sized spread and, if the corners are not already rounded, you might need to add a stitch or coated safety pin to lift up the point and "round" the two square corners at the foot of the bed so they don't drag the floor.

Would choose a basic base and solid white globe for the overhead light since with the sloped ceiling room it would be a good idea to have the light for light rather than attention/focal point of the room.

If you don't already have a pair of nightstands for lamps and don't want them, you might consider a pair of wall hung swing arm lights for the wall above the headboard.

Wouldn't crowd the window with drapes. Do use a shade for light/privacy control. Also, you could choose a rod wider than the window on which you can hang a (long side) swag valance that will cover the top of the shade (fully hide the shade when the shade is up) and covers only the side frames of the window, leaving as much glass and, therefore, natural light as possible visible.

You might consider pulling the chair out from the corner actually facing the center of the room -- (perhaps where the natural light from the window would be over the left arm/shoulder of the person sitting in it). Then hang that swag lamp from the ceiling slightly behind and above the chair so someone sitting in the chair isn't looking into the glare of the light.

You might also consider a small ottoman.

If I were you, I'd take a look at your local flea markets and on eBay in the "Chandeliers and Ceiling Fixtures" section for unique lighting. It takes time to sort through eBay listings, but you can find some really cool things if you have the time and patience. Rejuvenation and Schoolhouse Electric (to name a couple) make reproduction antique lighting. For lamps, I'd also check out flea markets or try Craigslist. You can set up searches (on both eBay and Craigslist) with keywords and turn on the email option if you don't want to have to bother doing regular manual searches for new listings.

I was thinking that is the wonkiest thing I've heard yet. Makes so much more sense now that you have a picture of the entire room What is the ceiling height? That of course will determine what exactly can be used. I would keep it somewhat simple and a bit retro looking. You have a lot of different styles going on in there already.

I just thought of something that might work! Especially if your ceilings are low, something like this might work really well and not detract/compete with all the other playful elements in the room. It's called the Bodalla 2-Light 14" Flush Mount and it comes in a variety of colors and base finishes on Wayfair. I think the seafoam with ORB or aged brass would look great it your space! We used them in several rooms in our basement and I love their simple lines.

Here's a close up of the seafoam w/aged brass (in our "kitty closet" where we keep the litter box and cat supplies).

We used white ones (also with aged brass base) in lieu of can lights in our rec room. And as a bonus, they're pretty reasonably priced and go on sale often (we got them for about $60 a pop).

Anyway, they might be worth checking out if you decide to go for something low-profile and simple.

For some reason the second half of my post didn't show up. You say you like the room as is but I would like to make the suggestion of an area rug. Something simple and neutral to warm up the space. Maybe a cream colored one with some accent colors pulled from the bed linens.

what an adorable room. I would probably put a basic flush mount white ceiling light fixture.(Preferably square). There are so many lines and angles I would not compete with the unique architecture. if possible (don’t know what wiring cabanilities are) I would mount wall sconce lighting each side of Bed headboard (or build a custom wall mounted taller than existing one with lighting in headboard). I would hang your small artwork above window mount shutters each side of window with roller window shade. Cute cute.
