What color trim and garage door for peach-tan brick house?

We are going to replace our garage door, and want to repaint the trim, and eventually change the color of the roof tiles. It's an odd color of brick, kind of a peachy/orange, and I hate the mono-color look going on now. We don't want to paint the brick, but want to tone down the color. I was thinking a dark brown or wood town garage door, but maybe a creamy white would work better? And a dark brown or charcoal roof? he front door is a dark brown, but we could change it. The landscaping is different now, the tall bushes are all gone and replaced with lower plantings, and the ivy is gone, so that helped.

With a roof area this large, I would want to have my eventual roof colour figured out before I committed to a garage door and trim colour. The driveway is also a large, impactful surface that needs to be considered as noted above.

If you're not liking the monotone aspect of this scheme now, nothing in the cream family is likely to be strong enough to make a big enough difference. On the other end of the spectrum is dark brown. That much contrast on the limited trim opportunities run the risk of drawing attention to all the wrong things.

When I look at this house, I am graving something that would balance out all that peachy brick and warm coloured everything. I would encourage you to look at colours in the midtone green/gray family like BM's HC-95 Sag Harbour gray or HC-108 Sandy Hook gray. Many of the grey/charcoal options for shingles have a green undertone.

You have a really solid-looking, handsome home, so it will be worth spending some time and money to get it right. Good luck with your project.

The greater the contrast with the brick colour, the more belligerent the garage door will become.

That's a lot of pavement and a lot of roof that need to be minimized. I think the landscape plants are overpowering the house and if more of it were visible you'd make a better choice about what exactly to do. How long until you change the roof?

I think a cream color could work, or maybe a tan/taupe color. Look at the mortar color between the bricks. A medium toned brown roof would be much better and break up all the orange. I would remove the big bush near the front door to open up that area.

The photo on the left is the after for a house with peachy brick like yours. There are many grays, but some of them go beautifully with brick exteriors. These people also touched up the landscape. It may be a color combo you could consider.

A good design for contrasting material, for parts of your exterior ?

These rustic, textured concrete steps are a great contrast to the contemporary ranch home. Soft tones are inviting, while the gritty floor material gives the home context and character.

Please post a pic of the house the way it shows now - with the new landscaping so we can see what your home looks like now. The landscaping shown really interferes with the visual - so it was an excellent call on your part that you have changed the landscaping first.

My first thought was to do the trim in a medium taupe (gray/tan) and, if you didn't do a wood tone garage door, paint it the same color as the trim. The taupe is going to pick up some of the darker tones in the brick and should help to get rid of some of the peach tone. I would also go with a gray/tan shingle. That would do the same as the trim, getting rid of so much of the orange/peach feel.

Thank you , we’re hoping to change the roof within the next year, and do want to have a color scheme worked out before we buy a garage door. I like the idea of a gray/green or gray/tan. I think after looking at a lot of pictures, a dark brown garage door would not look good.
