Why don’t you put blue painters tape where you think you want the shelves. Leave it up for a day or two while you decide. Write down the heights and move the tapes to your alternate position. You will be able to see what looks best to you. I am tall so my shelves might look better to me at a different height. Since these are for you, pick the arrangement that suits you best.

NO to shelves there : ) Buy an over the tub rack.

Shelves are not for tub stuff - more like clean towels, a speaker for bathroom. It’s a large bath but no storage for stack of towels etc.

Right now the window looks high...and the wall space lopsided...i would consider a tall narrow floor to ceiling shelf/cabinet unit to lessen the imbalance of the walls.... in the center section of shelves maybe x shape storage for rolled towels...with cabinets above and below for bathroom essentials...this could be trimmed to look like a big column that would compliment the big open space while adding a little more architectural interest and a visual separation between tub and shower...to disguise the sort of high placement of the window...i would add a shelf..that can be accessed while in the tub...for some beautiful bath gels...bubbles and pretty accessories...to soften up the ambiance

They'd need to be high enough for you to not bump your head on them.

Something to consider might be a box shelf with a bath towel bar beneath it.

Probably would not put the shelving on the short wall beside the window; instead, make the shelving as wide as the tub is deep and put it over the end of the tub on the wall at a right angle to the exterior wall with a window.

Alternately, consider corner shelving.

Show the entire bath. You don't have space for that, and it won't look good either.

If you're looking at the window, the wall to the right angle of the window wall would be on your left -- also left end/side of the tub in the pic

A linen cabinet would not have allowed for free standing tub. I wanted a tub more than closet so I am fine with that choice.

Thanks - Beverley. Those are helpful. Picture I show does have wall, so not sure if not coming out right on site. Trying another. Second picture also does not show wall but maybe shows more of bath so including it. I am not living in house and was supposed to have contractors finish final details in next two weeks so could move back in but all the issues in world now made it hard as having to make decisions virtually and may not get to move in for awhile -:(. Long winded way of saying can’t just walk in room and take another pic sadly.

You’re gonna need a linen closet outside the bathroom. And then just install some towel bars for immediate usage towels in the bath. You prioritized pretty over practical, and you can’t remedy that now. There isn’t room. Anything you do will just be awkward and in the way.

IdaClaire -- thank you so much for posting that. I actually started to post a similar comment and then decided maybe better to just delete the thread as really comments about how I should have a linen closet (which frankly I am not at all sad to miss to have a nice tub) just seem unnecessary and not at all why I came on the site. But more importantly, the world right now has lots of stress so what instead I will focus is those of who you kindly posted images of things I might consider (so thank you for those who came on here to help).

Jmo, but I’d go for function first, so wouldn’t worry as much about placement in regards to the window. So I’d do your first option, which sounds like would be easier for you to reach (and still look nice) ....

Thank you Jinx. That was super helpful ! Yes, that will actually be two towel hooks by shower and I was thinking having the tall one same height would add balance too. It will probably frankly be too tall for me to reach every day easily , but that is fine for extra towels and I will have lower shelf. Seeing your drawing is super helpful as does help show the balance !

Thanks suezbell. Unfortunately, I had to move out of my house during reno (bath was only part of it). I was supposed to get to move back in next week but could be weeks or months now depending on what happens given virus. So for now I am just dreaming about the tub, but soon hopefully !!
