Please help me choose a kitchen rug

I'd like a washable rug to put in front of the kitchen sink. I ordered the Thalia from Ruggable, but the colors don't look quite right and the pattern is much stronger in real life versus what you see on line. If you look at my kitchen picture, you'll see that my counter stools have a strong pattern so I need something that will coordinate with them. Any suggestions, preferably from the Ruggable line, but I'm open.

I want to be sure that we see your colors correctly - do you have light beige floors, walls, and the blind over the sink? What color are the drapes at the large window - they seem to to look pale blue, then white, then beige from left to right. White cabinets and countertops, the chair on the left looks like white fabric, and the one closest to us looks like white with a black and gray print. Do I have that right?

Which color did you order Thalia in? Do you want the rug to blend more with the floor, or do you want it to be a cream or white background color? Do you want it to have black in it?

Here are a few more pics of the kitchen as well aa the Thalia rug. The floor is a beige and cream travertine. Cabinets and counters are basically white. Blinds are an off white and the drapes are more beige, but have a pale green undertone which I hope not to accentuate. The counter stools are an off white with a taupe and black pattern. The kitchen table is a dark wood with light cream colored chairs, but not white. The walls are tan. I'd like the rug to coordinate with some of the colors in the counter stools to bring in some contrast so some black in the rug would look nice. Plus I have some black accessories that would tie in. I hope this helps. I'd be very appreciative of any specific suggestions. Thank you!

Here is a close up of the drapes plus a Ruggable rug that might work, but I think it would blend in too much with the floor. I'd prefer one with some black in it.

Bumping - Can someone help, please?

@katinparadise, thank you for your response! I saw that one some months ago and considered it, but forgot about it! Do you think it will look okay with the counter stools then?

    Another option or too dark?

Can someone do me a huge favor by photoshopping the Shibori and Impasto rugs into my kitchen? I wish Ruggable had the ability to "See it in your room" like I've seen on other sites. I don't wish to lose another $25 on return shipping.

If the colors are accurate, I think it will look nice. I wish I had photoshop but my Chromebook doesn't have it.

Thank you, @katinparadise. I like the Shibiro as well. Hopefully someone can Photoshop these for me. Is @groveraxle still around? She has been wonderful with Photoshop help in the past.

I just saw a thread about groveraxle and discovered she is taking a break so hopefully someone else will offer their help.

@everdebz, thank you so much for all these options!!! I like the last one best for my taste. Maybe someone will Photoshop that one, too.

Actually, I'm not liking that last one (Nourison graphic illusions) after I zoomed in. I don't think I like that faded, worn look for this area. The colors of the dalyn are nice, but thinking that pattern might compete with the fabric on my counter stools.

Doesn't the dalyn have almost same colors as chairs. The stripey is tiny like chair "branches." Same background color as floor... If you like contrast with one you're considering, it'll be only that block/size in front of sink. Place a towel there to see...

I'm not liking the dalyn with the pattern on the counter stools. I used the Houzz tool to see the rug next to the stool, snapped the photo and saved it to my Houzz kitchen folder, but now I don't see it there to attach it here. ?

Since I can't figure out how to save and attach my sketched photo of the dalyn in my kitchen, here is the rug and my counter stool together.

By the way, this one is out of stock anyway.

I post items in case houzzers want to search extensively on the web. :)

Ruggables, or other rug -- what does washable mean for those?

drsaj, is return shipping the same regardless of which size you buy? Maybe you could try buying the smallest size to see what you think of whichever is your favorite. Then, if it has to go back, it won't cost as much to send it back. Just buy it without the under pad so it will be nice and light. I bet the 2x3 would fold right up to fit in a one-price no matter the weight box from the P.O. Maybe even an envelope. I think the smallest boxes are around $7.00.

BTW, what did you think of the quality? I am thinking of ordering one for my kitchen and my master bedroom. I have a Basset Hound who insists on sleeping next to my husband in the bedroom every night and I need something that is easily washed.

Everdebz-to answer your question-these are a lighter rug that lay down over a pad. You just pull the rug up to wash and the pad stays in place.

drsaj, you can purchase a swatch from ruggable ... decent size to get a sense of colors and pattern (and less than return shipping!). I'd gotten a swatch this past fall but can't find where on the site you can select this option. Perhaps email them and they can help out before your purchase? BTW, if you don't already have a ruggable, I think you'll love it! I also love the Shibori pattern for your kitchen.

@katinparadise, the quality seems very nice and many Houzzers recommend them. I can't speak to their durability after multiple washings because I haven't owned one before. As for return shipping, I think it's $25 to return the rug and pad regardless of size. I like the idea of ordering a swatch like @jjamroz suggested. My husband photoshopped the rugs for me and although the Shibori has the perfect colors, the pattern wasn't playing well with my counter stools. I wanted to post his images here, but he can't seem to reduce the image sizes. I might even just stick with my taupe rug that you see in this photo. It matches the taupe colored background in my counter stools.

drsaj, I've owned my ruggable for 6 months and have washed it several times (dark food stains/drips as the rug is between stove and sink in our galley type kitchen). EVERYTHING washed out beautifully; it's like new :) I wouldn't hesitate to purchase once you find a pattern that you like! And, their service is outstanding: there was a flaw at one corner and they sent me a brand new rug (free of charge) and suggested I donate the "old" ... how good is that?!
