What Is this on my pepper plant?

Hello I have seen a couple leafs with this marking on them. I have no idea what it is or what it means. This is my first ever pep plant and I am doing well so far. Can some one tell me if I need to worrie about these markings. Thank you so much

Someone mentioned Mandevilla which are truly gorgeous. We live in Southern California and grow two varieties...Alice Du Pont and Red Riding hood. However, I don't recommend planting them in full, hot sun. You might try Orange Jasmine which we had along a fence in a previous home...they tolerate lots of sun, are lush, green with fragrant white blossoms. Also easy to trim to desired size. A couple other suggestions we have in full sun in SoCal are Ficus Nitida and Podocarpus. Both will grow tall and can be kept trimmed to desired size/shape.

What is eating my peppers plant leaves?

Mini homemade greenhouse outside, meaning anything (up to small rabbits) can get in.. Note that one leaf was cut 90% through, it was dead and bit through. Also I am loosing rhubarb - as always, to slugs BUT this time a leaf was cut in half. I always get slugs there but it looks like a slug are a straight line and cut a 10" leaf in half! This never happened and it makes me think the same problem is there. Never had a slug eat a leaf in half before. Peppers are in black fabric containers, under a light pvc/plastic done.

at first I thought it might have been sun scald, but even new peppers that I’m growing are showing these blemishes, and I’ve moved the plant somewhere less sunbathed. it looks like bottom end rot- except that none of these markings seem to be on the bottom of the fruit.

Does anyone recognize what is ailing these plants? we used to grow them in georgia without problems. these were bought online and planted at the beginning of last summer. They were doing awesome all year last year, then this year one didn’t shoot up, now they are all slowly dying. I live in coastal Virginia about a 1/2 mile to beach, and it’s pretty hot and humid. They get full sun. I thought maybe it was mites and sprayed them with neem which made it worse. Not sure if it’s a fungus and I want to be sure before I douse the plants with something that may not be helpful. Please help!!

A leaf miner is a type of fly that lays its eggs on a wide range of plant leaves and then the hatched larvae tunnel in between the leaf tissues and feed on the interior portions, essentially "mining" the interior juices and nutrients.

Unless you have a whopping great infestation, the damage is merely cosmetic and there is no need to treat. Hard to treat as well, as the leaf tissue protects the larvae from common insecticides and only systemics tend to be effective.

The easiest thing to do is the squeeze the leaf between your fingers, squishing any larvae that may be inside. But that is also not really necessary :-)
