Help with a non-vocabulary word

I'm looking for a word I saw in a book to help me in writing a haiku. It's a nonsense word that means (I think) daffodil. It's more than one syllable and begins with "dilly". The book is by Cynthia Riggs and it's part of the Veronica Trumball series; I don't know which one. I did email the author to ask and she responded right away but didn't know the word. She responded in haiku form but interesting - she has too many syllables in the middle line. Ha!

I know I entered it in my log complete with that word, but I can't find it. Can any one help me out? It won't be much of an inspiration to my haiku if I can't find it. Plus today is National Great Poetry Reading Day.

    'Daffy-down-dilly' is one I've heard...

That was my thought, Roxanna. Mother Goose: Daffy-down-dilly has come up to town; In a fine petticoat and a green gown.

And you will be sure to post your haiku here, right? Right!

Oh, I even forgot about haiku. That language's totally amazing! Maybe one day and I'm gonna start learning it as the Portuguese. It changed my daily routine. I had to attend a particular course until I found these basic words in portuguese. I'm glad that I didn't miss that opportunity and took it. Right now, I'm at a reasonable level, and I can start talking free in portuguese. One year of work is worth it.
