Satin nickel faucet with brushed gold hardware and lighting?

Our builder is asking us to choose our faucets sooner than later for the plumbing rough-in. I'm planning to use brushed/champagne gold cabinet hardware in the kitchen and gold fixtures over the island. I had assumed I'd just the same finish on the main sink and prep sink faucets but DH has expressed displeasure at that. Normally, I'd stand firm but with that finish being twice as expensive as a stainless or satin nickel finish (and the fact that I need two faucets), I'm wondering if I can still achieve the look I'm after with the satin nickel or stainless? Cabinets will likely be a light gray. I know mixing metals can look great but I don't want to blow it.

And FWIW, our house is a farmhouse style and fixtures in adjacent rooms will be a mixture of black and gold. I'm also planning to use black or ORV door hardware throughout the house. I'm afraid using black or ORB on the faucets will draw more attention to the fact they are different whereas it seems stainless or satin nickel will blend into the background.

Stainless won't even remotely match, but it is a durable finish for a kitchen faucet if you don't mind mixing metals. Satin Nickel comes closer, but it is still off from the champagne gold look. You are correct that the gold faucet finishes double the price, and that hurts when you have 2 to buy. It is up to you to budget. Look at Brizo's luxe gold finish for spectacular appearance and solid performance with lifetime parts and finish warranty. I especially like their articulating faucets which you can buy in a mix of black and gold or all gold. The Artesso or Litze collections within Brizo may be of interest to you depending on your style.

Wow, just saw some typos but it won't let me edit. I meant to say use ORB door hardware 🤦‍♀️

We have antique brass lighting, gunmetal hardware and a satin nickel faucet. We have antique brass lighting and doorknobs all over the house (built in 1949), the gunmetal hardware ties into the soapstone countertops and the brushed nickel faucet goes with the stainless steel appliances. I love it and it took me a post on here to get it all together. I think it is important that the mixed finishes tie into the rest of the house. If they do, it will work. If they don’t, the kitchen will feel disjointed.

Will your appliances be stainless? If so, I think that helps make a logical connection for the stainless faucet.

Yes, our appliances will be stainless.

In that case, I think you can probably get away with stainless faucets, too. Though I do have to say, we just put in faucets in the Delta Champagne Bronze and I LOVE them. We did a mix of matte black and the champagne bronze in the kitchen, so I'm all for mixed metals.

I’ve been looking at Delta Champagne Bronze tonight and I’m definitely swooning over it. Our builder prefers we use Delta. Which model do you have? I have been looking at the Delta Trask on Lowe’s website as $279 doesn’t seem like a terrible price. We have a Lowe’s Amex which saves another 5%, too :) It appears to be very similar to the Delta Trinsic, if not identical.

We did the Delta Trinsic. I started out looking at Brizo and just couldn't justify the additional cost beyond the Delta, given how similar the model we were considering were. I put the champagne bronze in the kitchen, powder bath, and master bath, and then saved money with the chrome in the other bedrooms.

I have 4 bathroom faucets in the Delta Champagne Bronze finish, and they have held up well for over 3 years now. The MSRP on Brizo is never what you'll pay if you're shopping around. We just ordered two Brizo kitchen faucets for nearly half of MSRP from Quality Bath by getting their base lower prices plus catching a 20% off sale. Brizo's luxe gold is a step up from the Delta Champagne Bronze if you're going for the gold color. Brizo is a subsidiary of Delta, by the way, so the great technologies like the leak-resistant Diamond Seal and durable PVD Brilliance finishes (of which Stainless is one) are crossovers. @shead If I recall, one of your sinks is in the pantry, correct, so you could perhaps splurge on one gold faucet in your main area and a stainless in the pantry?

@Aglitter, we’ve actually decided on a prep sink in kitchen since we are now building from scratch vs remodeling/addition because of the storm damage. So, unfortunately, I would need them to match :/ I’ll look at the Brizo some more. I was just hoping to come in under budget on my faucets to use elsewhere.

Both the Champagne Bronze Delta faucets and the Brizo stainless steel faucets we bought were above the cost of what you could get a standard faucet for in stainless steel with a traditional design. However, we were able to maximize discounts by shopping online for the lowest prices which sometimes involve a percentage off discount sale since Delta/Brizo and other brands put a cap on how low resellers can advertise the list prices. Also be aware that some faucets being ordered online right now are being delayed weeks out due to lower capacities in manufacturing and shipping delays due to the pandemic. Our faucet order placed last week is projected to arrive in 3 weeks. If cost is a big concern, maybe the polished nickel might be a compromise after all, but again, polished nickel is frequently higher in cost than stainless steel, so if it was the gold/brass color you really wanted, then polished nickel is only getting you halfway to that goal for an increased cost anyway.

I was just looking at brizo and I really liked the tone of their polished nickel. I was planning gold hardware and lighting. Stainless fridge and range. Paneled dw. Is that too out of left field? Should I go with their gold instead?

Do you think brizo polished nickel would look good with gold hardware and lights? Appliances are stainless fridge and range. Dishwasher is paneled. I really liked the tone of polished nickel but was worried it is kind of random.
