Help, conversation seating arrangement with off centered wall/entry

We just repainted our living room, got rid of one piano but are keeping the baby grand. It has had only the 2 pianos in there for several years with no furniture. We wanted to place 4 chairs in a conversation seating arrangement. Either in a circle as the pictures show, "L" arrangement or face to face. Now I am in the process of adding layers. Just added the 9x12 rug. Trying to decide on an ottoman/coffee table etc... My dilemma is this. We like the piano in the bay window but due to space, we cannot center the chairs in front of the wall where the candle holders are (Those are just there for a reference point). Not only that but as you can see from the picture through the french doors, the doors are not centered to that wall either. An "L" arrangement with 2 chairs along the wall and 2 facing the piano works but is not my first choice. If we kept the chairs in a circle, how do I decorate the wall to make it look balanced with the furniture being off set from it? Other ideas for decorating?

Our dining room is what's on the other side of the arch. We mostly enter through there. There is enough room to open the french doors even though it may not look like it in the pictures.. We usually only have those opened when we are entertaining. With the chairs in a circle, we can easily walk from the dining room to the piano by walking around the chairs without having to cut through them.. I have thought of your idea as well with tables and chairs. I agree, I would not want to add furniture of any kind along the wall and would like to stick to art work there. Lighting is a problem in the room. We will be changing out the light fixtures but the only light is over the dining room table and the piano. So a lamp on a table by 2 of the chairs nearest the wall/windows or a floor lamp would be helpful. Thank you for your suggestions.

The placement of the piano is not a good one I know it looks pretty there but temp fluctuations make it a poor spot. I love the 4 chairs, could you try moving the piano closer to the DR and then rearrange the chairs. Just do it on paper first, a to scale drawing and cut out the furniture pieces to the same scale and see how it works before actually doing it.

I did mention that configuration to my husband who was not crazy about it at first but is now willing to reconsider based on your comments. We just replaced the windows so have not added the protective film to them that we had before to help protect the piano. Recently the piano was in front of the wall between the 2 windows as we had a second piano in the room. So you would actually suggest that the seating arrangement be more in the bay window section. I was worried about the balance with the dining room being right there. Do you see that as a problem if the piano were close to that.

Have you tried your chairs slanted and closer like below? (Adding cushions to match your rug would be nice.) This would allow for a console table under your art and would draw the eye. Add a mirror to reflect the light (lower than your art, as it’s a bit high) and a lamp.

Just mentioning in case you wanted to update your window treatment to a less feminine look, but still traditional. See below and could duplicate fabric in connecting room but use drapery.

The things in the room currently such as the art, candles are not staying. Only the chairs, rug and piano are what I will keep in that room so it is a blank canvas at this point. The room prior to re-do was more Victorian, hence the drapes. I have pillows and throws for the chairs on order. Deciding on ottoman/coffee table. My main question is placement of furniture/piano and what to do with the wall. Love the window treatment you posted. That's a problem for another day:)

Thanks. What do you think of a collage of black & white vintage photos/drawings on the wall? I don't want too modern of a look. As you can see, the dining room has an older charm so I want the rooms to blend.

If you just replaced the windows they may be LowE and not require any film. I know pianos are not to be place ON and outside wall, but perhaps when there is air flow all around, the bay is acceptable?

I think your room is lovely and see no need to center the chairs on the wall when they are free floating. I would probably look for a large "statement" piece of art for that wall, one that will fill more of it from top to bottom. If you get an ottoman, you can probably move the chairs a bit closer to the center of the circle, if it doesn't restrict getting to them for seating.

A large statement piece on the wall could look very nice, thanks
