Looks like you may need a filing/storage cabinet, and maybe a printer/scanner? What things do you need and use in your office? Do you have any degrees or diplomas or award certificates you can frame and hang on the wall behind you? I hate having to get up out of my chair to print/scan, so maybe a low table that you can swivel to will be helpful.

Not a designer. But the bookshelf you chose may look small behind your quite long desk. What about getting something longer and more substantial or built in?

I think that bookshelf would make a *very* busy background for videos, and require a lot of thought to make look decent too -- I'd go for a large abstract painting instead.

You are really only showing us one wall. Is that the entry door? If it is you should have your desk facing it so your back is Not to it. I would like to see the rest of the room to give any suggestions. I like the bookcase but as someone else said it may be too small in relation to your desk. Maybe add a low console with art above flanked by 2 shelving units. But if that is the entry door it all should move to the other side of the room.

what would you put on the open shelves? there's a lot of them. if you have nice pieces and artifacts to add, great, but the reason the open shelves look so nice is that the styling of them is fabulous, so you will want to do something similar with styling them... especially because they will be filmed

It is something that you will need to think about and coordinate. clearly you have a more modern aesthetic with the art you like, so you will need to make sure you work in that same concept. do you have any pieces now that you want to incorporate or are you starting from scratch?

Starting from scratch. I don't mind working around this art piece.

I will give you some thought starters... assuming you go with the metal and wood shelving you posted above. I would start with some greenery. there's alot of very nice faux plants out there now and I would get 3 to 5 (multiples in odd numbers are your friend) of the same faux plants in simple white pots. I would stagger them on the shelves. heres a couple options from target... not sure of sizes, but you will want to make sure that each plant is large enough to fill one slot...

second I would add books, but the books need to have similar sleeves. I might suggest getting like an old set of encyclopedias that you can arrange on the shelves, again staggered on the shelves. some placed flat in a stack, others upright between bookends.

I would consider putting maybe 3 wicker baskets on the bottom 3 shelves as they will be low and not as noticed. plus they look heavier and will weigh it down.

I would then get several unique individual pieces.. could be statues, pottery pieces, a stack of decorative boxes, clear jars filled with something... shells, river rock, corks from wine bottles... again place them staggered on the shelves, zig zagging them
