Need advice re: lighting for front entry/staircase.

Current location needs to be relocated (wasn’t centred when we bought the house). Open to multiple lights, staggered / offset heights, etc...
I have 2 of these globe chandeliers, but hate the direct light in our eyes when walking in upstairs hallway!
Note - thinking of putting in pot lights nun upstairs hallway as well.
