Red Brick, White Partial Paneling/Trim - Need Help with Paint Colors

last modified: 5 years ago

Hi - We have a partial brick/partial paneled ranch in need of an update, and I need help with paint colors, please.

We want to paint the panels below the windows, the door, the columns, and, if you can imagine it, white vertical wood siding (or paneling?) that goes from the right side of the house (starting in the carport) to the back of the house. We also have a small guest house in the back with the same white paneled/siding exterior that we will also be painting. A landscape refresh is also in order, but the more urgent need at the moment is paint.

The interior of the house is updated, with the main living areas painted in BM French Canvas (den and sunroom) and BM Wythe Blue (formal living room and dining room). I mention that because I'd like the exterior to have a similar muted look as opposed to going with a punchier brick/grey/red door combo that I often see.

Any paint color suggestions would be much appreciated! Also, should we ditch the shutters? And if so, what color should we paint those under-window panels? They drive me crazy but I don't think we can take them out without re-doing the brick. Trying to avoid that.

Thanks!
