Transform Corner of backyard into a sand bed

HI, I would like to create a small corner of my yard into a sand bed however worry about the wind we get daily blowing it all around the yard. It would only be 10X10 space however we tend to get a lot of wind in the spring and summer later in the afternoon around 3:00. Do you think the sand would end up everywhere? Bad idea?

Make a rectangular sand box with a matching cover that can be put over the box when it is not in use. This has to be done anywhere unconfined house cats are in the picture anyway. Otherwise the play or sitting area becomes a litter box.

Ok good idea.. Didn't think about the cats.. we don't have any but do have strays that like to hang out in the yard at night..
