Scratches on furniture

My cat has scratched up my table, and some of the chairs have some deep scratches. Would wood filler work for the deep scratches? Also, I wiped the scratch and I accidentally wiped the finish off so now its not glossy in one area. How can I fix this? thanks!!

Looks to be a soft wood (pine) so it will scratch easy, especially if the finish coat is thin.

Touching up just one area at this point is meaningless.

Take some fine steel wool and Mineral Spirits and remove the top coat finish of the table.

This may lighten the color some but you can then use a penetrating stain to cover the scratches. Then brush on several coats of a polyurethane water base finish. Its a much more durable finish and will hold up to your cats paws.
