Can a lavender chair go with other pieces in linen over a coral orient
Comments (5)Thank you all! I'm only re upholstering because the fabrics have faded and are over 25 years old. But their quality, is quite good. Will try bringing a pillow and look more closely at rug to see if there is lavender ( I think not -maybe small amount of pink) curtains are cream, with silver and gold/copper. Have no art in lavender. My colors have always been coral, cream, Tiffany blue . Probably shouldn't go there with lavender.....it is just a color that have always loved but not used. Can't say enough about covering windows with UV film particularly if you live in Texas...See MoreWhite linen curtains/drapes or nothing at all.
Comments (8)One thing I notice is you are getting sun on the hardwood floor and that you have dark furniture. UV rays will dramatically fade and damage your flooring and furniture over time. I would consider a product like Hunter Douglas Silhouette or Nantucket shades. They still allow for you to have a view to the outside while filtering the light coming into the room. And, at night, you will be able to close them for privacy. Even if you don't have neighbors, most people don't like having their windows completely exposed at night or when they are out of town....See MoreWould you cut these drapes in half?
Comments (50)If you love the drapes, prioritize using them. I personally don't like the arch mirror between the windows. It adds a competing window look (because it replicates panes) so the eye bounces across the 3 things (window, mirror, window). If you used that mirror in another room, a large piece of art with some grays and just a touch of red would tie everything together. A large art poster would be a reasonable cost. You asked about the number of your accessories. I don't think it's so much the number as the placement. Things are lined up like soldiers rather than grouped. It's the same issue as window with statement drapery, large busy mirror, another window with statement drapery. Look for places of emphasis and a place for the eye to rest. I like my 'things' and assume you have things on display that you love. And I do like your new draperies a lot. Have what you love in your home and you'll love being there....See MoreShould I hang the drapes higher and wider ? Drape suggestions ?
Comments (11)I would do semi sheer white curtains (maybe some with texture) and hang a little higher. I bought some curtains fitting this description from west elm a while back and have been happy with the purchase. Since I'm lazy, I determined the rod height by the length of the curtains I bought....See Morekpenni
