Giavanna, I think your best best is to first settle on a look you're going for. Go through Houzz photos (do a search on Open concept living rooms) and create an ideabook of things you like. Do you like modern styles? Traditional styles? It looks like you have kids, so family friendly will likely be important.

I think we need a bit more to go on before we can give you good advice.

Of course! I like Modern farmhouse, French country, Industrial, traditional, ect. I also like natural earthy pastel when thinking about a color scheme. I also like mixing dark tones with light ones.

Also, in terms of layout, think of it as two functional spaces -- a dining table area near the kitchen, and then a livingroom area in the rest. Get a table and chairs in the one, and a couch and a couple of arm chairs, rug, coffee table in the other.

Our kitchen is an eat in kitchen on the other side of the breakfast bar so we are already going to get an island/table for that area. And we want to put some bars stools as well. So the area in the pictures will only be a living area since we don’t need more seating than that.
